Meet The Chef

Silks is headed by acclaimed Chef de Cuisine Kwan Cheung who brings years of culinary expertise, specialising in cooking multi-regional Chinese cuisine.

Silks Perth

Chef Kwan travelled to Vancouver in the 90’s and frequented Chinese restaurants with friends. This is where his love for food and the desire to pursue a career as a chef began. 

He then went on to acquire his cooking skills while working at a Chinese restaurant in his hometown Macau. Kwan commenced working at Silks in 2013 and loves designing innovative and delicious recipes to delight his customers with.

Chef Kwan has worked at multiple restaurants at the Crown Perth Complex, with vast experience including preparing banquets for over 2000 guests. This experience allowed him to develop a strong skillset and in 2019 was promoted to Chef de Cuisine.Kwan is honoured to lead the kitchen at Silks, offering a beautiful balance between traditional and new style Cantonese cuisine.
